Manchester United sign 18 year old Defensive Midfielder, Sekou Kone as INEOS continues with their fairytale transfer window. The 2006 born defensive midfielder was born in Mali and has represented Mali U-17 at various tournaments.

Sekou Kone who played for Guildars FC has been dubbed as the next Yaya Toure by the African media after sealing a move to Manchester United. He began his career at the JMG academy in Bamako, Mali, following the path of Tottenham star Yves Bissouma and has been wanted by different European clubs after his performance at the last Under 17 FIFA world cup.

United will pay a fee of £1.25 million for Malian club Guidars FC, while there will also be appearance bonuses too.
What does Sekou Kone add to the Manchester United team?

Although playing for Manchester United, the Malian playing style is similar to Manchester City’s Rodri with his precise and accurate passing technique while being a classic ball winner. He will first play in the U21’s team where he will take the place of the British -Nigerian who has just left the club, Maxi Oyedele. Facudo Pellestri has also departed Manchester United this transfer window. Kone will also bring in his leadership traits to the youth side after being one of his team’s leaders in their World Cup title charge. Mali later finished third in their 2023 U-17 world cup journey and Sekou Kone was instrumental in their race.
